What's for dinner tonight!?

2 of the ugly witches

the 3rd witch (bottom left of picture)
This picture is also before our lawn really died :)

I just cut down these three really ugly bushes in our front yard ( I call them the 3 witches because that is what they look like). I've tried trimming, but they are just a place where all the snails hide out, plus they are so woody underneath. I just got tired of them. You might be wondering why I worry about 3 bushes when we have a playhouse and tent in our front yard........ (Good thing we don't have a home owners association. )
I happened to mention it to my brother Luke. He got after me for cutting down the rosemary bush because of all the uses it has in cooking (yes he is a herbologist). So he convinced me to salvage a few branches from the driveway where I had dumped it. Trying it out for dinner tonight - fresh garlic, olive oil, chicken, potatoes and fresh rosemary. He and his wife, Meghann said to wrap the branches around the chicken. Sounded fun. It looks pretty, at least. (Notice Claire's little fingers trying to sneak a piece of dinner!) I guess we will see if I regret cutting at least the rosemary bush down. Well, actually - even if dinner is really good, I have no regrets because they were such an eyesore. (Of coures, now the dirt section that is left behind is quite attractive.) I'm really missing our basil plants..................they were small and pretty.

I tried to see your place while I was in Cali but I probably would've missed my flight. Drat. I could've seen these witches. And the toys in the front yard.

Ha, and Homeowners needs to come cut the bushes down in MY front yard but WON'T!

I love rosemary so I am glad that Luke got after you. Of course, we have a bush that I trim and never really use as often as I should. I am really in need of good recipes. Any more ideas?
