Another fun year at Loon Lake. A week of camping, swimming, babies, bocci ball, baseball and even skits this year! (No, I kid you not!) This was one of the more meagerly attended years, but definitely not meager on the fun. After 2 days of waiting to get the field sites, we all settled in nicely. The weather was great (only one light rain shower one afternoon - I was actually napping with Luke, so the sound of rain on tent was quite delightful - I only briefly wondered how those at the beach were faring.) This year we extended our stay by heading up to Grandma and Grandpa's for a couple of days. Played with a new batch of kittens, did laundry, went to church, toured Johnny and Brenda's new castle, and stayed up way too late playing games and laughing at eachother. We also trekked up to Philomath to see Mannings in their new neighborhood. We tried surprising them at their ward building, but it didn't quite work. Just a great week of fun, staying up late around the camp fire, eating too many smores and more.....
You know, I've been thinking about how some of us are more faithful than others in attending our family reunions........it makes me wonder, does that extend over into other areas in your lives??
Baileys have the record for most consecutive years attended (2nd generation) and also most pregnant when attended. I think Brett now holds record for most salamander caught (with Kaleb, Scotty, Josh probably close behind). Luke and Meghann now have record for bringing youngest baby ever (Siena - 2 weeks). Carden has the record for bringing the most girlfriends to Loon lake (with Kenzie and Gabe tying for 2nd). Mannings have the record for the most injuries. G & G have record for actually driving to Loon Lake now over 100 times. Johnny and Brenda have the record for sneaking away and going to bed early with excuse of settling a baby. Ellison's have the record for bailing the most times at the last minute (with great excuses, however). Of course, Seth and Lynae top the charts for the most absenses (Hawaii vs. Loon Lake - I just don't get it). Walburgers have their 2 cute little excuses, but if I recall, I think their record was having the most new-fangled camping gadgets each year. Any records I've forgotten about?
