Sisterly Concern

(The setting: Sunday morning, the day after Anna's baptism)

Eliza, "Mommmmmmm.....Anna is putting on her baptism dress!" (in a tattle tale sort of voice - not an informative type of voice)

Mom ignores comment as she is busy dressing Luke in the next room over and thinking to herself, "Who cares!"

Eliza 10 seconds later, "Mommmmmm! Anna is putting on her baptism dress!"

Mom, "She can wear it if she wants, Eliza. Just like you chose what dress you are wearing."

Eliza 20 seconds later, "Mommmmmm! Anna is wearing her baptism dress!"

Ignore.

Eliza 5 seconds later, "Mommmmmm! Anna is wearing her baptism dress!"

Mom, "It doesn't matter, Eliza!" (thinking, "Stop talking to me about this!!!")

Eliza, "But she is wearing her baptism dress!"

Mom, not using her most understanding voice, "Eliza, she can wear it. Don't worry about it!"

Eliza in a very loud, wailing, teeth gnashing voice, "But then she will be the pre....tttttt.....iestttttttt!"

Brett's comment: "She sounds like Cinderella's step-sister!"

More on Anna's baptism another day...................:)

"Uh, oh!" as Miranda would say.

I guess you haven't seen much sisterly rivalry between them- but maybe because your daughters are so very well behaved.

Did you make Anna's dress? It is beautiful, and I must say I'd be feeling a little green-eyed if I had to go to church with her!

Give her our love!

Thanks Nadine - yes, it was being finished as the clock was striking midnight :) There aren't many stores this time of year selling white, eyelet little girl dresses. I should have shopped around last Spring. I noticed when she wore the dress the bottom of the zipper was sticking straight out (cause I forgot that minor detail) and there was no button at the top of her dress above zipper in back. But! She LOVES it and has worn it the last two Sundays and I fear she will never tire of it :) And I fear I will probably never do those unfinished details.

I can't wait to see your girl's Christmas dresses! Now THAT is a project!
