Well, since everyone else is blogging about the weather/cold/heat/Thanksgiving, I thought I'd chime in. It is pouring down rain right now as I write in Livermore (makes me think we might as well be in Oregon.)
We have not yet turned our heat on this season as we are afraid to. Even though gas is relatively cheaper now, it never seems to show that in our heating bills. Plus we are also "boycotting" Pacific Gas & Electric for donating $250,000 to the "No on H8" campaign. Well, that is what we are pretending we are doing until we cannot stand the cold any longer.
I don't know how cold we are but it is cold enought that all day long it makes me grouchy. The kids still have to be directed to not wear tank tops and shorts and then say, "I'm cold!" (no sympathy here!) In fact, I finally just removed Claire and Eliza's tank tops from their drawer. No more pretending that it is still summer. However, Nadine, we have not had the pleasure of wearing our winter coats for breakfast! Now that would be a treat. You are nicer than I am - I would be thinking of it as just more laundry to do.
Buffy, I'm a little disturbed that you are aimlessly walking around at Target when you should be home getting started on that rotkohl, cranberry chutney, fig pie, roasted green beans, sweet potatoes and the Thanksgiving decor. You know, we will be there sooner than you think!
At least I have been THINKING about what store we will stop by on the way to get the Turkey and bag of potatoes. I ALREADY know where I will be picking up the pumpkin pie. Oh and the dough is ALREADY in the bread machine rising. Come on Buffy, get with it!

And right now I'm checking blogs instead of making food!!!
Yep, I had to weed out the shorts just a few days ago myself.
I didn't OK the jackets. That was their dad's idea. Yes, more laundry. That was another reason why I changed the thermostat.
Ooooh, and I'm SO jealous that you are already heading south and spending these next few days with FAMILY. And, the menu sounds mouth-wateringly delicious! Enjoy it for me!
