PREVIEW OF BEAUTY AND THE BEAST!

What a fun play!  We were lucky to have FOUR actors/actresses to watch so the whole play was entertaining for us.  Anna was "Cogsworth" (the CLOCK!) , Joshua was "LeFou" (the FOOL!) - Gaston's side-kick, Claire was a "Villager" (whom I might add LOVED to drink her beer!) and Eliza was a dancing fool, I mean a dancing FORK!

Not sure where our villager is in this picture :)

Our villager spotted doing what she did best!

Cogsworth trying to get control  of those out of control dishes!

LeFou looking HORRIFIED!  (next to his best b uddy Shane in red)

Various reactions by the spectators......lol

Some were more into the play than others......

More to come!  Our friend Jim came and videotaped the final night for us as well as loaned us his awesome camera to take stills with so we are excited to see those.  This was just to "whet your appetite" haha :)  The kids did such a great job and it is such a relief that it is over.  At the same time I wish I could go watch it ONE more time.  Loved it.

Sisterly Concern

(The setting: Sunday morning, the day after Anna's baptism)

Eliza, "Mommmmmmm.....Anna is putting on her baptism dress!" (in a tattle tale sort of voice - not an informative type of voice)

Mom ignores comment as she is busy dressing Luke in the next room over and thinking to herself, "Who cares!"

Eliza 10 seconds later, "Mommmmmm! Anna is putting on her baptism dress!"

Mom, "She can wear it if she wants, Eliza. Just like you chose what dress you are wearing."

Eliza 20 seconds later, "Mommmmmm! Anna is wearing her baptism dress!"

Ignore.

Eliza 5 seconds later, "Mommmmmm! Anna is wearing her baptism dress!"

Mom, "It doesn't matter, Eliza!" (thinking, "Stop talking to me about this!!!")

Eliza, "But she is wearing her baptism dress!"

Mom, not using her most understanding voice, "Eliza, she can wear it. Don't worry about it!"

Eliza in a very loud, wailing, teeth gnashing voice, "But then she will be the pre....tttttt.....iestttttttt!"

Brett's comment: "She sounds like Cinderella's step-sister!"

More on Anna's baptism another day...................:)

Claire and Eliza's 1st Big Bike Ride - good job girls!!

Not sure what the Mermaid and Belle comment mean. Sometimes my kids just sound so brilliant......................

Do you think they are about an octave too high "out of their range?"

Not sure what Aunt Beth is thinking......she's been doing voice lessons with the girls weekly and this is the way they sing now. Not really what we had in mind for the amount of money we pay Beth. I suppose it is time for one of those awkward chats about how "it's just not working out......" Any ideas how to bring this up with my sis without hurting her feelings?

"Look at the baby, oh look at her eyes
What do you think can she see?
Well she smiles rather strangely and stares at the sky
I know she’s not looking at me
Do you think she is smiling at angels hovering ever so near? And maybe their lonely for their little friend on this beautiful sunshiny morn…"

Our little "work in progress"

......as Aunt Sean once described my daughter. I don't know WHAT she means! :) "Keep on singing! Don't stop singing - you're gonna be a star someday! You're gonna make a lot of people happy when they come to hear you sing!" Recognize that line from Helen Reddy's song? Eliza especially loves to sing. Anna said, "Mom, I think Eliza is going to be a rockstar." Me, "Why do you think that?" Anna, "Because she never stops singing." Hmmm.....Is that what it takes to be a rockstar? Please, no rockstars in our family. It was bad enough with Sean's hardrock pantomimes growing up....

“Hey, won’t somebody come and play with me?
I’ve done all my work and I’ve got a little while to spend……if I could find a friend….”
I love these songs by Janene Brady. The kids play them over and over on the cd player.

Eliza Eliza Eliza

Eliza is a little girl that loves to dress up. She is most happy when she has a blanket (a "Mary") on her head, preferably silky and more than 4 bows or rubberbands in her hair. She dresses in multi-layers constantly - even in her pajamas - because she says it is "more beautiful". She comes to me and gives me directions of how to twist, tie, attach items to her head or clothing. I try to appease this creative child, but most often times she tells me I did it wrong. No, it is not frustrating. I really like doing her hair 4-5 times a day. She tells me to put her bow on top with all her hair (doesn't work, darling child, you need about 3 more inches of hair) Then Claire will want the same thing, only her hair is even shorter. If any hairs touch her neck, we are in dire straits. They do outgrow this, right? This is a concoction she made herself. Even though all her siblings were laughing at her, she still thought she was beautiful. (And at least one other person (her mom) agrees with her !
